Our Values & Mission

Camp Nominingue is an English summer camp for boys. It is located 200 km north of Montréal in Québec’s Laurentian Mountains.

At Camp Nominingue, we value:

Outdoor Experience

Leaving the city to learn how to enjoy and appreciate nature, living in tents, roaming the Nominingue playground, learning campcraft and canoeing skills, and venturing through the outdoors on canoe trips.

Opportunity

Away from the usual routine, to learn new skills, to make age-appropriate choices and decisions, to experience teamwork and interdependence through group living and group activities, to have fun, to find friendship and adventure.

Respect

Key to living in community: respect for people, for one’s self as well as others, for nature, for safety and security and for sustainability.

Personal Growth

That comes from new experience and challenges away from home, new skills, developing friendships and teamwork, assuming responsibility and building confidence and independence.

Camp Nominingue, located in northern Quebec, provides an outdoor sleep-away summer experience to boys aged seven to sixteen, where English is spoken as the predominant language. Sessions offered range from one to eight weeks, in addition to a Family Camp in August. Traditional values, respect for nature and outdoor skills are practised by both staff and campers at this 375 acre facility.

values and missionOur mission is to be recognized by our campers, staff, parents and alumni as the premier boys’ summer camp experience in Quebec as evidenced by our teaching of outdoor life skills, our nature program, canoe tripping, sustainable environmental practices, and physical education. We challenge our campers to embrace new experiences while respecting their individual preferences. We continue to seek a diverse and global camper and staff population.
