As part of the registration process, all parents pay a $75 tuck shop deposit for any purchases which their son might make at the tuck shop during his stay at camp. The balance of the deposit is refunded at the end of your son’s stay at camp. Most campers do not spend most of this deposit.
The Camp Nominingue tuck shop usually opens about twice a week, especially prior to the departure of canoe trips. The major purpose of the shop is to enable campers to purchase essential items that they may have forgotten or lost, for example:
- Tooth brush
- Tooth Paste
The shop also stocks some key items that campers must bring on a canoe trip, such as:
- Water Bottle
To avoid these purchases, ensure that you send a hat and water bottle to camp with your son.
Other items which the tuck carries:
- Pocket knife for carving (Swiss Army “Pocket pal”)
Every third day, your son will be able to choose a chocolate bar, which will be charged to his account.
